I chose this career path because
Since Julie has been in first grade, she always knew education was her path. She wanted to be a teacher growing up. It is a God given gift.
I prepared for this career by
She has a Master's Degree in Education and Curriculum with an emphasis on ethics and justice from Concordia University. She also has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Wayne State College.
The biggest challenge I've overcome
Her biggest challenge is continuing to find techniques and methods to fit individual students' needs for learning.
My greatest strength(s)
She enjoys working with at-risk individuals, helping identify their strengths and helping them learn in their best way possible. She works with students ages 17-59 working on their GEDs.
My greatest accomplishment to date
Her greatest accomplishment is seeing all the students she has worked with graduate, and the part she played in helping them meet their goals.
My personal/professional goals
She works with students helping them be in charge of their own education, and helping them take control of their future.
What/Who has inspired me the most
Her inspiration is the students she meets and wanting to help them realize their dreams and be self sufficient in life.
I most want to be known/remembered for
She wants to be remembered as growing the adult education program across the state.
