About my company
Headquartered in Lachen, Switzerland, Octapharma Group is one of the largest human protein products manufacturers in the world and has been committed to patient care and medical innovation since 1983. Our core business is the development and production of human proteins from human plasma and human cell-lines. Octapharma employs approximately 6,000 people in 28 countries with sales of more than €1 billion. Patients in over 100 countries are treated with products in the following therapeutic areas:
• Haematology: high-purity coagulation factor concentrates for patients with bleeding disorders Haemophilia A, B and von Willebrand Disease
• Immunotherapy: immunomodulation or immunoglobulin replacement therapy for the treatment of immune-mediated diseases and deficiencies (immune disorders including autoimmune diseases and antibody deficiency) by inducing, enhancing, or suppressing an immune response.
• Critical Care: human plasma and protein products for treating critically ill or injured patients in intensive care and emergency medicine settings.
Octapharma owns five state-of-the-art production facilities in Austria, France, Germany, Sweden and Mexico.
I chose this career path because
I spent 12 years in a diplomatic position working for the German Embassy and German Foreign Office located in Argentina, Germany and Russia. I speak German, English, Russian, Spanish and French. I than came to the United States and in 2000 I worked for Bayer where I did a lot of training and team management. I than switched gears and went into the finance industry working for Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) and UBS Wealth Management. I have always held top-level positions and go the extra mile to complete any task. In 2014, I went back to the pharmaceutical industry working for Octapharma USA where I support the President and Board Member in daily business operations. I manage logistics for the advisory board and other business critical meetings. I am also in charge of special projects as assigned.

I received my Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from European Business School Stuttgart in 1988. I also have an Associate's Degree in Social Sciences from Kaspar-Zeuss-Gymnasium Kronach in 1985.
The biggest challenge I've overcome
The biggest challenge is that in leadership roles companies prefer men over women. When women become mothers sometimes they have to put their families first. It's not always about the career and men don't want to understand that.
My greatest strength(s)
My greatest strength is anticipating people's needs and quickly assess situations. I have great analytical, communication and people skills.
My greatest accomplishment to date
My greatest accomplishment personally is my seven year old daughter. Professionally it is being able to land a job in the United States within 10 days without a work permit. I had passion and good connections.
My personal/professional goals
I still feel I have more potential that has not been tapped into yet. There is always more room for growth and opportunity.
What/Who has inspired me the most
My inspiration comes from bringing value to the company. I get personal fulfilment when I finalize a project.
I most want to be known/remembered for
I want to be remembered for being innovative, going the extra mile and for being able to see behind the scenes.

I enjoy the following hobbies/interests
I love the great outdoors, avid horseback rider, adopted three cats from the shelter, gardening, going to museums, teaching German and always learning about new and innovative ways to improve the environment.
